Greetings! Today, I'm thinking about saying "thank you" - always, of course, because that's what I was taught to do, but specifically in response to interviews.

You've probably heard that the thank-you note is passe, isn't necessary, and never gets read, but I'm here to tell you that they do get read, and not only that, your thank you note *could* be the differentiating factor that sways the hiring manager in your direction when it's decision-time.

You can send it via email - you don't have to break out your gel pens and cute cards and dig through your wallet for a Forever stamp. But you will want to be sure to write and send that email soon after your interview - no later than the next day.

I don't think any of that is a tough sell, is it? It's common courtesy, after all, to thank others for the time they spend with us. But, I do know that sometimes it's hard to know what to write. That's why I created a free template you can download and customize and use the next time you need to send a thank-you letter post-interview.
